Terms of service
The deal, in the same plain language as the rest of the site.
What you are buying, what happens when something breaks, and what we ask of you. If a clause here is not clear, write to us before you spend anything.
Who you are dealing with
RippleNav Applied Research is an independent project based in Australia. Contact us at privacy@ripplenav.org. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
What TrueHeading-MCP is
TrueHeading-MCP is a server your coding assistant connects to. You describe the problem in one sentence, and it answers with one line: where to look, and what is there. Then you open that file. It currently has seven tools to serve that purpose.
Accounts
You create an account to buy usage credit. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for the security of your account credentials. You can download everything held about you, or close your account, from the Account page at any time; closing it deletes the account and the personal information in it, and cannot be undone.
Membership and payment
Account registration is free, but tool usage is charged at the rate shown in the account portal. Prices can and will be adjusted when the third-party services we depend on change their prices.
What a unit is
You buy usage credit, counted in units. A unit is not money: it has no cash value, it cannot be exchanged for cash or for another currency, and it is not refundable except where these terms or the Australian Consumer Law say otherwise. Each purchase lasts the period shown when you buy it — twelve months from the day of purchase at the time of writing — and buying more does not extend the units you already hold. The period can change for future purchases; it never shortens the life of units you already hold, and each purchase's expiry date is on your account page. The price of a unit, and what each call spends, can change; a change never re-prices the units you already hold.
A purchase has a smallest size: ten dollars. Below that there is no sale — the payment would cost more in processing than it earns. Because the floor is an amount of money and units are priced in units, the number of units it buys moves when the price does: your account page states the smallest purchase in units, at the price in force, before you buy anything.
Complimentary access
Access granted without payment, including any promotional or gift access, is a courtesy. It is not a purchase and carries no monetary value. If the service is discontinued or unavailable, no payment, refund, credit or compensation is owed for any period of complimentary access.
Paid access and availability
If paid access is unavailable for a continuous period of more than 30 days, and the fault is solely ours, you may request a refund for any remaining unused paid credit. Beyond that refund, no further compensation is owed.
We do not promise any particular level of availability. If the third-party AI service this product depends on is retired or becomes unavailable, that is outside our control and we are not responsible for the service lost with it. Our service also depends on third-party infrastructure and API providers. Any failure, outage or change by those providers may affect our ability to deliver the service. You accept that we cannot be held liable for interruptions caused by third-party provider failures.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to bypass access controls, harvest accounts, take the endpoint apart and rebuild it, or use the service for any unlawful purpose. Where an account abuses the service or breaks these terms we will revoke its keys, which stops it using the service at once, and we may close the account. There is no separate suspension state: a key stops working, or an account is closed and deleted.
Disclaimer and consumer rights
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. You use TrueHeading-MCP at your own risk, on your own judgement.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). To the extent the law permits, our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the cost of the unused service.
Inactive accounts and data encryption
Your password is never stored. What is kept is a salted, one-way hash of it — PBKDF2, with a salt of its own and 100,000 rounds — which cannot be turned back into the password. You can download a copy of your data, or close your account, from the Account page.
We do not remove accounts automatically, and no timed job runs against them. An account that holds no paid credit, has no active complimentary access, is not an administrator account and has recorded no activity for six to twelve consecutive months may be removed by us. If that is about to happen, the service does not send email: a message is placed on the account page thirty days before the account is removed, and signing in once keeps it.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Your continued use of TrueHeading-MCP after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
